Report from Chris Smith
12 th October 1980, Between Inverness and Nairn, Highland
The next reported sighting was by an off-duty policeman. On 12 October 1980 at 3.20 am he was driving between Inverness and Nairn when he saw a large cat-like animal on the road. It was a grey or fawny-tan colour and about 4 ft long with another 2 ft of tail. It had short fur and a cat's head. He believed it was a puma. The animal was running very quickly in a smooth leaping action and crossed the road in two bounds.
