On a July evening in 1980 a holidaymaker reported seeing a strange cat-like animal on the shores of Loch Ness on the shores of Loch Ness between Dores and Inverfarigaig. It was chasing three deer, which apparently swam out into the loch and drowned. The witness only saw the rear quarters of the animal but described it as a large cat the size of an Afghan hound, with an arched back and dark grey in colour.
