Late April-early May 1980, at about 8.30 pm, a farmer at cannich was checking his stock on the hillside. In the dusk he spoted an animal making down the field towards his sheep. It noticed him when it was about 100 yd from him and then it ran off and disappeared towards the hill. He described the animal as long and low with a long cat-like tail. He did not see its head but its colour appeared to be dark tan with its back lighter than its flanks.
