Lioness-like cat seen near Kiltarlity

27 th November 1979, nr Kiltarlity, Inverness-shire
On 27 November at about 2.30 pm two men were driving near Kiltarlity, south of Beauly, when they saw an animal on the road about 100 yd away. It was cat-like with a short golden-yellow coat, a large head and a long tail, and was larger than a fully grown Labrador dog. One witness swore that he'd seen a lioness.
