Grey and brown striped cat seen by Inverness

19 th July 1979, Inverness, Inverness-shire
About 3.30 am. Strange animal huddled in middle of road in housing scheme. Size of a large dog and had a grey and brown striped body with white spot on rear, pointed cat-like ears, back legs like a hare, but no visible tail. When disturbed it spat like a cat and ran away very fast. (Two witnesses).
