Lioness-like animal seen at Tore-roundabout

15 th November 1979, Tore roundabout nr Dingwall, Ross-shire
Three days later (15 th November), at 11.45 pm a civil engineer was driving on the new A9 at Tore roundabout near Dingwall when he saw a cat-like animal. He turned his car around to get a second look. He described it as about 4 ft long and 2 ft 6 in high. It was dark-coloured, lion-like but without a mane, had a long thin tail and small ears; it loped as it ran and looked like a large cat, but was not a wild cat.
